A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

In the past 10-15 years I've traveled somewhere between 700k and a million air miles and hence amassed quite a collection of photography.  I have shot thousands of pictures, true there are some spectacular photos; however keep in mind the beauty of a digital world for every picture I share there are twenty others that aren't so good. So before you think I have some magical power through the lense, trust me there is a very large pile on the cutting room floor sort of speak.

Over the years I have used various digital cameras, some were taken with an old Kodak DC290 (3.5mp), or newer photos were taken with a Cannon Digital Rebel SLR (6mp) or Cannon Digital Elph SD900 (10mp). So here are the top five favorite photos from my personal collection. Yes I shot them. Click on any image to see it larger size. Enjoy!

(#5) Life in a New England Town

This photo taken from Fort Knox, Maine across Penobscot River towards Bucksport. A scenic view of a New England town.

(#4) Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

This photo taken of St. James catholic church in Red Bank, New Jersey. 18+ inches of snow kept the streets clear of people for this snapshot of what is usually a very busy street.

(#3) Licking the Shore

This photo taken at former Pacific Missile Range Facility - North of Waieli, Kauai, Hawaii at the Northern end where it meets Polihale Coast cliffs. Absolutely beautiful beach a dozen or so miles from the closest paved road. The western most point in the United States and featured in the Nissan commercials with Dick Dale singing in background.

(#2) Stillness

This photo taken on beach in Key West, Florida very close to the southern most point in the continental United States. This was the backdrop to some close friends wedding.

(#1) Never Forget!

This photo taken of New York City Skyline August 2001, just days before the landscape was to change forever. For a period of time this photo was in Google photos top 10. This one photo brings more emotion than anything I've ever shot a picture of. Of my personal collection this series has brought more discussion than you could ever imagine. Posted on 9/11/01 as a memorial all I've ever asked is that if it is reused, that folks make a donation to the Red Cross for what they believe they would pay for the rights to use or reprint this photo. I can't do much, but if it's proceeds can make a difference to someone then I'll have made some small contribution to society.
